About Citizens' Climate Lobby

Our mission in general is to create the political will for climate solutions by enabling individual breakthroughs in the exercise of personal and political power.

Governments will respond to the will of the people, provided we tell them what we want. And what we want is a livable world.  So, here in Florida, we aim to get that message to our 2 Senators and 27 Representatives. In the Port Charlotte/Punta Gorda chapter, we focus on delivering that message to Congressman Tom Rooney.

This is what Citizens’ Climate Lobby works for. To empower citizens to connect with, and influence, their members of Congress. To spread the idea that each one of us can address climate change.

More specifically, by building constructive, working relationships with members of Congress we seek passage in Congress of Carbon Fee and Dividend -- a climate change solution that bridges the partisan divide.

Carbon Fee and Divided is a revenue-neutral fee on carbon with all the revenue returned directly to households. It will reduce greenhouse gas emissions 52% below 1990 levels within 20 years, create new jobs in Florida and save lives by increasing the quality of our air.
